Joan D. Marhefka

Marhefka - Joan D., 87, Johnstown passed away on August 16th, 2025. Born May 1st, 1938, in Bon Air , daughter of John Francis and Dorothy (Butara) Marhefka. Proceeded in death by parents and twin sister, June Marhefka. Also proceeded in death by son-in-law, Tom Lemon. Survived by children Consuelo Lemmon, Carla Clark, David Marhefka, and Alex Downs. She was also survived by grandchildren, Aaron Lemon, Sabrina Lemon, Rachel Bracken, Ian Fine, and Noah and Luke Marhefka, great grand-child Harmony Bracken, special nieces and nephews Marcie Nickels, James Marhefka, Faye Marhefka, and John Michael Marhefka. Joan was also survived by her brothers Jim Soto and Raymond Marhefka. Joan was a University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown graduated, Magna Cum Laude. Joan retired from Bishop McCort High School, as a teacher with 30 years’ service where she taught creative writing and religion. At one point, she also coached the swim team, cheerleaders, and advised the reading team. She was a member of the Church if Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The family will receive friends at 10 am until time of funeral service at 11 am on Thursday August 21, 2025 at Baker Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services (231 First St., Conemaugh, PA 15909) with Fr.
