Shiley – Vernon, 67, of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 11th, 2026, at Richland Healthcare and Rehab. Born on May 27th, 1959, in Johnstown, son of Ernest and Carolyn (Kyle) Shiley. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Tommy Shiley; brothers-in-law, Nick Urban, Al Helsel, Edward Russel; Nephew, Zachery Rue Russell.

He is survived by sisters, Leona Russell, Becky Urban, Jenny Goughnour, Ruth Shiley, Carol Shiley, Betty Layton, Patricia Helsel; and various nieces, nephews, and ousins.

Vernon was a graduate of Vinco High School. He enjoyed watching various sports, wrestling (WWE) and hockey. He loved to do arts and crafts making things in shop. Vernon was a very outgoing guy, always making people laugh, always having a good time. He was very loved by so many.

The family would love to say a special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Richland Healthcare and Rehab for their care during his time there. The family would also extend a thank you to Senior Life for everything they have done for Vernon as well. A special thanks to Jodi and Rhonda helping him during the past couple years being there for him and helping him as needed
